Elulu announces Kogi SGS as Yeye Oba of Mopa
… As FAIWO sets to Empower Mopa Widows
The Elulu of Mopa and Chairman Mopamuro Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun, has announced the Secretary to Government of Kogi State (SGS), Dr Mrs. Folashade Ayoade Arike Ph.D. as the Yeye Oba of Mopa land.
He made the pronouncement during the visit of the SGS to his personal residence in Mopa on Monday, pointing out that she deserves to be awarded the first Chieftaincy award from him since he became the 4th Elulu of Mopa.
The SGS, earlier while addressing the entire Mopa Women, declared that her Foundation, the Folashade Ayoade Initiative for Women and Orphans (FAIWO) will empower 25 Mopa women in the coming days.
The Elulu narrated that on May 15, 2024, His Excellency, Governor Usman Ododo appointed him as the Elulu of Mopa on 15th of May, and he was corronated traditionally on 17th of May, pointing out that by the power conferred on him, he announces the SGS as the Elulu of Mopa, and to take effect immediately.
He said the decision to confer on her the Chieftaincy title is due to her many strides in the civil service, public service, and philanthropy across Kogi State, Nigeria, and beyond.
He added that the pronouncement is a special one because it is the first Chieftaincy title that will be bestowed on an individual since he became the Elulu.
In remarks, the SGS appreciated the Almighty God for the opportunity granted to her and for installing Oba Ibeun as the Elulu of Mopa.
She urged the people of Mopa, especially the women, to continually and fervently pray for the Elulu, as he remains the choice of God for the development of Mopa, Okunland, and he is a royalty to reckon with across the globe.
The Balogun of Mopa, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Chief Clarence Olafemi, while giving his remarks attestated to the good deeds of the SGS as earlier mentioned by the host of the occasion, Hon. Elvis Oluwasegun Abereoran and others.
Speaking on behalf of the Women, Mrs. Alice Komolafe appreciated Elulu for using his influence and resources to bring infrastructural and human development to Mopa. She also appreciated the SGS for her benevolence and philanthropy to empower Mopa Women.
