The Governor goofed when he said that Eket elders should be held accountable for his administration’s failed and abandoned projects in the local government area.
Who’s the Governor????…Udom Emmanuel
Who approved the projects?????….The Governor
Who awarded contracts????.The Governor
Who chose the contractors???…The Governor.
Who approved payments for the failed and abandoned projects????…The Governor.
Who is to ensure that contracts awarded by the government are carried out to specifications????…The Governor, directly and through his appointed members of his cabinet.
Who should be held accountable for the failed and abandoned projects?????…The Governor.
So, the Governor had no business shifting blames to Eket elders.
He chose to play politics with his administration’s projects and awarded contracts to inexperienced and ill-equipped firms that he can underpay.
To demonstrate how insincere the Governor is,the person who handled one of the failed and abandoned projects has been well rewarded by him with a commissionership appointment.
If anything, the Governor was expected to be apologetic and remorseful for frittering away our money on failed and abandoned projects
In the final analysis, the Governor only succeeded in proving that his government is inept and clueless.
