
Eid-il-Kabir: Imbibe true meaning of sacrifice as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim- Kogi Council of Ulama’u tasks Muslims

As the world commemorate this year Eid-il-Kabir celebration, the Kogi State Council of Ulama’u has admonished Muslims faithfuls to imbibe the true meaning of sacrifice and patience as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim and his Son Prophet Ismail.
The Council in a statement signed by it Secretary on Friday also admonished Muslims to stop and ponder on the countless challenges confronting humanity today, in order to retrace their steps.
The statement reads in part “At the down of this year’s Eid-il-Kabir Sallah Celebration, the Council urges Muslims to observe the celebration with the spirit of strong faith in Allah as displayed by Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and that of unflinching obedience as displayed to him by his son Ismail (Ishmael).
“Faith and obedience are essential’ means to attaining fear of God (Allah) which is highly needed in today’s existence as the solution to all human and social problems.
“We call on all Imams to pray at the Eid ground for security of life and properties as well as maintaining peace and peaceful co-existence in the State.
“The Council applauds and appreciates His Excellency, Alh. Ahmad Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, for his sustained support to religious organizations in the State. The Council prays unto Allah to guide and protect him.
“The Council enjoins the Muslim Ummah to remain law abiding, and appeals to the Muslims generally to donate their animal skin to the Council of Ulama’u Zakat Committee (Skin Banking) for better utilization and benefit of the Muslim Ummah”.
