Edo state Police Command said it has deployed Police and traffic personnel in an effort targeted at decimating Crimes and criminality,and improving security of lives and property during and after the celebration.
CP Yaro equally charged Tactical commanders, DPO’s and and their supervisory area commanders in the State to beef-up security in their AOR ahead of the Eid-el-kabir celebration to prevent any break down of law and order.
A release made available to journalists in Benin City and signed by ASP Jennifer U. Iwegbu, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer of the command, said, Command
Deploys 3,426 personnel to beef up security around the state.
CP Abutu Yaro, also directed that supervisory Area commanders should ensure adequate deployment of officers and assets to prevent occurrence of crimes and criminality, as well as build confidence among the residents of the State.
He further charged officers and men of the Command to ensure continues and intensive patrol, Stop and search, raids of black spots, Crime prone areas and other anti-crime strategies to ensure public safety during and after the celebration.
He also warned that, ” personnel deployed are to be professional and civil to the members of the public. ”
He further enjoins all Muslim ummah to be security conscious while celebrating Eid-El-Kabir and report any suspicious individual,movement or criminal activities to the police.
He advised , the general public to keep collaborating with the command by way of availing the police with prompt information, and admonished the general public to cooperate with the police and other sister agencies deployed on duty at strategic places in the state for the celebration.
