Effective Counselling, Guidance Key To Reducing Moral Decadence


 

Councilors and Effective Guidance Councilling in schools in the state have been urged to double efforts to reduce the moral decedence on students in schools and colleges.

The Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Science Technical Education and Teaching Service Commission (,STETSCOM) Mrs Cecilia Cook made the remark in message to a one day training workshop organized by her office in lokoja.

The Executive Chairman in a message represented by the Permanent member one of the Commission, Mallam Mohammed Saba said the training become necessary to reduce the vices among the students in schools

Mrs Cecilia Cook explained that Guidance Councilling Councilors has alot to play in schools as to enable the students exposed themselves of their wrong doing to their councilors for correction.

The Executive Chairman urged career councilors in the state to use the knowledge acquired at the training to put more effort to enhance teaching and learning in schools.

Mrs Cecilia Cook disclosed that semilar training has be held across the three Senatorial Districts, and appealed to the participants not to relent efforts in handling any challenges before them with ultimost careful.

 

In her remark, the Director Guidance and Councilling in the STETSCOM, Mrs Agnes Akpata said the training was organized to sensitized school councilors to known what they have been doing in their various schools on how it effects physically on students they are serving.

Mrs Akpata noted that though the challenges are enormous, point out that the commission would not rest on it oars to ensure councilors were properly informed to carry their duty effectively.

 

One of the participants from Government Day Secondary School Lokoja, Mrs Omotosho Elizabeth -Oluwatonyi who spoke onbehalf of her colleagues commended the Executive Chairman of STETSCOM MRS CECILIA COOK for organizing such sensitization, adding that the knowledge acquired would enable them to improve their skill most especially on record keeping among others.
