The Minister of State for Education, Rt. Hon. Goodluck Nanah Opiah has described the GYB Model schools built by Gov. Yahaya Bello as a new innovation other State Government should emulate.
The Minister made the disclosure while on a working visit to the GYB Model Science Secondary School Adankolo, commended Gov. Bello’s infrastructural Development in Education.
The Minister who was full of praises for Gov. Bello said the country is looking at Science and Technology as the way to go, said the GYB Model schools would help improve the learning sciences.
He commended Gov Bello for staying the course, expressed the determination of the Federal Government to partner with the State to make it a model in the country.
The Minister urged for the sustenance of the legacies of GYB Model schools, by ensuring that the infrastructure are properly maintained for the generation to come, commended the quality of work and equipment at the GYB Model schools.
In a remark, the Kogi State Commissioner Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology,
Hon. Wemi Jones noted that His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is committed to revamping education sector in the state noted that the State has committed 30% of the state budget to Education.
The Commissioner told the Honorable minister that the Model Science Secondary School is a new face of the administration in the renewal of science revolution in the world.
He pointed out that the GYB schools cut across the three senatorial district in the state, promised to sustain the steam by making sure that the school has the required manpower and infrastructure.
The Commissioner had a fruitful interaction with the Minister and his team on ways of making Kogi State a model in the country.
