
Education: Gov Ododo approves construction of Hostel accommodation for NKFI, Lokoja.

….as institution prepares for OYESA, expanding operations
Kogi state governor has approved the construction of a 200 bed-space hostel facility for the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute in Lokoja.
The construction would be executed through a public private partnership engagement.
In a press statement signed by the Rector, Dr. Oluwatoyin Williams and made available to Journalists in Lokoja on Monday, noted that said the construction of hostel, will position the institution on the path towards expansion in operations and attracting students from within and outside the state .
He added that one of the impediments to the institution operating at a maximum capacity is the non availability of accommodation for students on campus stressing that the Governor’s intervention was timely and a necessity to move the institution forward.
Dr. Williams asserted that with the intending commencement of the recently unveiled Ododo Youth Empowerment and Skill Acquisition Programme (OYESA), the hostel accommodation would foster government’s plan to ensure that those selected gets maximum learning experience.
While expressing his appreciation to the governor for the approval of a long awaited project, the Rector said , the disposition of Gov Ododo is to make the young people self reliant through skills acquisition and knowledge based education
” Governor Ododo is following the footprint of his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello who had invested significantly in the advancement of the institution leading to some of the giants strides achieved. Gov. Ododo is taking these strides to a greater steps further.
He thanked the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones for his supervision, which has made Education sector to witness a turn around, adding that he has impacted positively on the growth and development of NKFI
