A youth leader with the National Youth Council of Nigeria in Edo State has successfully marked the 8th edition of his annual charity outreach on Friday, 26th November 2021 in Abuja, Nigeria.
The youth leader, Comrade Charles Osagie who is the current Public Relations Officer 1 of the NYCN in Edo the Heart Beat State of Nigeria, yesterday with his team visited the Queen Esther’s Orphanage and Children’s Home, in the Kabusa area of the Federal Capital Territory, to fulfill an annual assignment of reaching out to the less privilege and needy kids.
Speaking to newsmen after the visit, Mr Impact as fondly called by friends, colleagues and followers said the activity is named Project Smile Again and this very outing happened to be the 8th of many more editions to come, God willing.
He said the project was borne in 2014 out of the passion to continuously put smiles on the faces of the less privileged and the poorest of the poor in the society. He expressed that PSA is his own platform of encouraging the reaching out to the lesser privileged children in society by the privileged ones.
When asked why the choice city of the project, he understandable explained that for now the project annually holds in the city of his residence as at November 26th of that year. Of which the project has previously held in Benin City where it all started in 2014, 2015, 2018, 2020, in Lokoja where he served during NYSC and later resided for a few years in 2016, 2017, and 2019 and now Abuja where he partially operates.
The Esan originated philanthropist noted that the choice of destination in Abuja was a random recommendation by a PSA volunteer and donor Patience Ayuba in Kaduna State. He revealed that the project is always supported by other well meaning people who believes in giving to charity. Chewable items, writing materials, drinks, toiletries, cooking ingredients, cash and other items were donated to the home this year. In previous years, orphanage, hospitals, street kids, schools have been reached out to between the 1st and the 7th edition across Benin City and Lokoja metropolis.
While he graciously thanked PSA 8 financial partners, he appreciated everyone who invested one resources or the other into making this 8th edition a successful reality. He prayed for the blessings of sowing and giving to humanity upon everyone involved in Project Smile Again so far.
