The Caretaker Committee of Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today, felicitated with the immediate past Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki on his well-deserved award as Digital Governor of the Year in recognition of his administration’s technology reforms, which has repositioned our dear State as a frontier of digital innovation in Nigeria.
In a statement signed by Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, Chairman of the Committee and made available to newsmen noted that as governor of Edo State for eight years, between 2016 and 2024, Ex-Governor Obaseki were unshaken in his resolved to modernize governance and improve public service delivery, leveraging technology to drive multisectoral growth and development, and opening a new vista of opportunities for our people, especially the youths.
The statement noted that from education to health, infrastructure, economy, agriculture, and civil and public service, the impact of Obaseki’s bold and transformative reforms has been far-reaching, making our State a gold standard for digital governance and sustainable development in the country.
“You will be remembered as a governor who made the hard choices at the most inauspicious time to better the lives of his people and engender economic prosperity, progress, and accelerated development in Edo State.
“We celebrate your impact and lofty achievements and are proud to have you as a governor in our lifetime. Accept my hearty congratulations, Your Excellency.
