A Socio Cultural Group, Edo PDP Concerned Group, (EPCG), ,has agitated why it is necessary for the aPeoples Democratic Party,(PDP), to zone the position of National Deputy Youth Leader to Edo Central District of the state.
The National Deputy Youth Leader’s position will be formally elected at the party’s convention slated for October 30 and 31st in Abuja .
In a release made available to journalists in Benin City, and signed by the chairman, Moses Odianose, said the State PDP chairman, Dr Tony Aziegbemi and the state governor Mr Godwin Obaseki should for fairness sake, allow Edo Central Senatorial District produce the Youth leader.
Ahead of the Peoples Democratic party,PDP, the National Deputy Youth Leader of the party is said to have been zoned to Edo State.
The office of the National Youth leader was microzone to Edo state after the meeting of the South South governors of the party meant to reallocate offices allotted to the zone .
The Edo State PDP chairman, Dr Tony Aziegbemi and the state governor Mr Godwin Obaseki are expected to determine which of the district in the state to fill the slot.
“Edo Central Senatorial District since inception of democracy in 1999 has always voted Peoples Democratic Party, unlike the other two Senatorial District.
“Edo South Senatorial District has produced the present Governor of the state, while the North Senatorial District have already produced two Board of trustees members as against non from Edo Central Senatorial District.
The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic party,PDP, will
be better off if equity is followed.
Odianose, advised that sharing positions equally around the three Senatorial District will put the party in a good position in the state.He concluded.
