Edo 2024: Labour Party Will Deliver Dividends Of Democracy—— Princess Emily Okojie

A Chieftain and governorship hopeful in the forthcoming 2024 Edo Governorship election, on the platform of the Labour Party, LP, a humanitarian, a woman of virtue and hope for the voiceless in the society, Amb. Princess Asha Emily Okojie has promised Edo People Of reaping the dividends Of democracy when Labour Party comes to power in the state.

Princess Asha Okojie who was one of the prominent Labour Party members that graced the mega rally when Peter Obi came to Benin City in the run up to the September 2nd 2023 Local Government election stated this while briefing journalists about the outcome of the rally.

Princess Okojie who was very excited with the mammoth crowd that turned out for the event said the presence of the former Presidential Candidate in the last Presidential election brought hope to the people of Edo State that a new Nigeria is still possible.

Princess Okojie said her experience in the mega rally was a good phenomenon, adding that she saw a hope, the motivation and the joy of the youths. She further said that Obi’s presence at the rally brought another hope to the people of Edo State that they can still live a better life some day.

“My experience in the rally was in two folds! the youths that came to the rally to stand for the truth and what they believe in and for a better life and a new Nigeria, and promised the people of better days ahead.

“One of the reasons that made me to vie for the Governorship election is the pains and anguish i feel about the people of Edo State. Also, the hunger and poverty in the land. The only cure to these numerous problems is having the people’s voice heard and i am looking forward to that. The movement of freedom continues, freedom of empowerment. The youths are neglected, brutilized and unemployment is high. To help restructure this crippling economic situation, we are in need of someone like me to do the work”.

She described Obi’s coming to Edo state as timely for the people who wanted to renew hope, inspiration and motivation for the poor ones who have been suffering for too long. “He also brought the spirit that brings unity among the people. He brought the spirit of equity and justice”.

Princess Okojie further said that another thing she need to do to incorporate herself solidly into politics as a woman is to raise her voice, adding that if she do not speak out nobody will hear her. She said she will always try and create the awareness so that the media will play their role by disseminating the information to the appropriate quaters. She added that the message has to be precise, unbiased and timely and a message driven with honesty.

“We women have to make sure we are tested and ready from the begining for the job you want done”.

She reminded those politicians who believe so much in money politics to have a rethink as money can never solve the issues of integrity, accountability, leadership skills and management.

“When you talk of management, talk of people who can see the future and believe in the same goal and that is where I come in and i have the same objective. That is also where I come in with a new vision, a new direction, a new voice and a new dawn”.a
