Edo 2024: Group affirms support for Asue, Ogie

As the countdown to the forthcoming governorship poll in Edo State hots up different groups have steamed up their campaign for the success of their choice candidates at the polls.

A group, Asue Ighodalo Patriots(AIP), has affirmed its support for the Asue Ighodalo/Osarodion Ogie, governorship and deputy governorship ticket of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) for the September 21st, 2024, poll.

The members of the group used the occasion of the meeting of its Edo South Chapter which held on Sunday to pledge its allegiance to the PDP flagbearers and call for the support of others in ensuring that the duo come out tops.

The meeting, which was well attended by members of the group in the seven local government areas that make up Edo South namely Oredo, Ikpoba Okha, Egor, Orhionmwon, Ovia North East, Ovia South West and Uhunmwode, was unanimous in the call for support for the PDP duo of Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie come Saturday, September 21, 2024.

In attendance at the meeting, which is the AIP’s July edition, were units and wards coordinators of the Edo South chapter of the group, who all gave a nod to the clarion call for the emergence of the PDP as winners of the guber poll.

Among names of notable AIP members present at the meeting were Mr. Paul Smith Eghobor (Convener), Patra Cole(Deputy State Coordinator), Mr. Clinton Idahosa(Edo South Coordinator) and the seven Edo South Local Government Areas Coordinators.
