The floodgate of declarations for the Edo 2024 governorship race has a new entrant in Hon. Sunday Anamero Dekeri a.k.a. Danco
Before a gathering of All progressive Congress, APC leaders, party followers, and teeming supporters, Danco at the APC secretariat in Benin unveiled his ambition to govern Edo State in the next dispensation
The declaration attracted top political heavyweights across the three senatorial districts in Edo State.
Hon. Dekeri currently represents the Etsako Federal constituency in the Green Chamber and recently drew national attention with his motion on the floor of the House calling on the federal government to enunciate a national policy on the care of the less-privileged.
Hon. Dekeri described his gubernatorial voyage as the “venture of hope”, adding he has what it takes to govern the state and also free it from the grip and clutches of those who lack vision and the idea of how to govern a modern state.
He added that his string of successes in his private business where he was able to empower a multitude of people and that of of Anamero idofe Anamero Foundation is a testament of his capacity and capability.
The Anamero Foundation which is run by a Board of Trustees put in place by the lawmaker is one of the major active NGOs in the state providing community-based services to the less privileged in areas like health care, bursaries, scholarships, widow empowerment, and similarly providing infrastructure such as road , solar powered street lights,bores etc
Throwing more light on his “venture of hope” mantra, Hon. Dekeri explained it evolved out of the people-centric APC manifesto, adding it is a multi-mix integrator that incorporates education, health, human capital development, agriculture, food security, and economic prosperity for the generality of the people.
He lashed out at the present administration for lacking the vision to transform the state despite the God-given resources at its disposal and promised to run an all-inclusive government where integrity, transparency, and accessibility are promoted
