Edime Edime II is a Nigerian actor and movie Director ; Ohiala ( 2021) Oma Ofe (2020) Mute (2019).
On 17th July 2021 he made history & became the first northern Nigerian to première a trilogy movie as his work titled ”the Kogi Evolution story” was premiered at the Nigerian federal capital territory Abuja.
A trilogy is a set of three works of art that are connected and can be seen either as a single work or as three individual works.
The movie THE EVOLUTION is made up of OHIALA,ITOPA & ALO , these three movies in one are myths & legends of the evolution of IGALA,EBIRA & OKUN the three major ethnic groups that make up Kogi state in Nigeria & this is a huge plus for the Nigerian movie industry popularly called NOLLYWOOD.
Nollywood is globally recognised as the second largest film producer in the world. The Industry is a significant part of the Arts, Entertainment and Recreation Sector & in 2016 it contributed 2.3% (NGN239biliion) to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
It is one of the priority sectors identified in the Economic Recovery and Growth plan of the Federal Government of Nigeria which in 2020 got $1billion in export revenue from the federal government.
Despite the diversity of the various ethnic groups in Kogi state Edime Edime II has through these works found a bounding factor using film in bringing together the three senatorial districts of Kogi in this movie.
And this should be a project promoted by the Kogi state government to promote the mantra of one united Kogi.
The movie is a five star product.
