ECOWAS Trade Workshop Holds Sensitisation Today, Monday 9:00am At Glass House Government House Lokoja: KOCCIMA President Rallies Private Sector

The President of the Kogi State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KOCCIMA), Dr. Akerejola Demiloye, has called on private sector operators, manufacturers, exporters and the entire business community in Kogi State to seize the opportunity of the ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS) Sensitization Workshop scheduled to hold in Lokoja.
The Workshop, convened by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the North Central Geopolitical Zone, will hold on Monday, 2nd November, 2026 by 9:00 a.m. at the Glass House, Government House, Lokoja.
The Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, is expected to deliver the Keynote Address at the opening ceremony.
Dr. Demiloye said the participation of KOCCIMA members and other stakeholders is crucial, as the ETLS is a vital instrument for promoting regional economic integration and facilitating duty-free movement of qualifying products within the ECOWAS market.
According to him, the Workshop will expose participants to the requirements, benefits and opportunities inherent in the Scheme, including enhanced market access, trade expansion, industrial competitiveness, export development and linkages to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
He urged all members of the Chamber – manufacturers, agricultural businesses, mining operators, traders, exporters and SMEs – as well as relevant senior officers and Directors responsible for trade, industry, investment and business development to attend.
The KOCCIMA President assured that the Chamber is working resolutely to ensure that the end result benefits its members, noting that the outcome of effective utilization of the ETLS remains unquantified for Kogi-based enterprises.
