Dual Care and HIV Prevention Enrolls 9 Year Old Boy Into Primary School, Offers Nutritional Support to Beneficiaries.


 

The Dual Care and HIV Prevention Initiative has held its Monthly Nutritional Support Program with the enrollment of Abdulkudus Aliyu a nine year old into primary school.

 

 

Pastor Mrs. Roseline Alabi, Executive Director, Dual Care and HIV Prevention Initiative, made the disclosure by her organization to enroll Abdulkudus into school, lamented that at age nine, he was yet to begin school.

While pointing out that her organization has taken the responsibility to enroll him in school, said the monthly support for PLWHIV in the State where they are provided with nutritional support is focussed on improving their dieting.

She added that the monthly support enables the organization to monitor the well-being of people affected, interact with their care givers on challenges with a view to offering support where necessary, expressed commitment to sustaining the initiative.

Similarly, the Executive Director said the organisation uses the monthly support to also ensure that care and treatment for the concerned persons is not interrupted, scale up medication where necessary, said HIV is not a death sentence.

While pointing out that the nutritional support enables for educational, nutritional and counselling for beneficiries, restated Dual Care and HIV Prevention Initiative commitment to ensuring that people that are affected live healthy as well as get helping hands.

The Executive Director lauded the contribution of some individuals, corporate organizations who are helping to provide the nutritional support, expressed appreciation that the organization is happy with the well-being of people under her care.

Pharm. Eric M. Akoji, the AIDS program Coordinator was represented by Mr Achimugu Onuche, Assistant Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Kogi State Ministry of health.

Highlights of the program for November was the official distribution of the monthly Nutritional Support, Menstrual pads and cash to the targeted beneficiaries.
