Leaders are born, not made, according to a school of thought. Yet, we are educated in the development school which elucidates the values of knowledge, conviction and willpower as instruments to shatter barriers and erect structures and institutions that will steer society towards a better order.
It will not be right to say that Hajia Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu is the first minister of state for FCT, but among those who have held the portfolio, she stands tall and can be counted for her laudable achievements in the territory and across the Country at large.
She has indeed contributed her quota to the growth and development of the territory, and there are facts and figures to back up the claims.
She’s a highly cosmopolitan Nigerian, who does not discriminate on the grounds of tribe, political affiliation, religion or where you come from, she is also noted for her act of benevolence, commitment, hardwork, loyalty and love towards all.
Hajia has a super knack for listening, which makes it easy for her to accommodate all shades of opinions and learnings.
She is a woman of high integrity. Her word is her honour. She is fearless in the face of intimidation and threat to personal safety. Her mission has been and is still the wellbeing of her people.
Her public life, according has been driven by a quest for a society where the wealthy and strong must use their expertise and strength to ensure a system where the weak can find space and encouragement to excel. Dr Ramatu has been an example in the service of humanity.
