“Nothing succeeds like reputation”.. John Huston. This old saying has again been proved at the Federal Polytechnic,Idah with Dr David DANJUMA Baba, as Rector.
This confirmation is based on the articulate, dogged, dedicated and pragmatic approach to administration, in line with the VISION of this great nucleus of learning, to make it ‘ A first Rate Polytechnic for Training of Disciplined, Innovative and self Reliant Manpower’.
It is one thing to appoint an Administrator into a public office and it’s entirely another thing for such a one to perform maximally. In this context, seeing is believing, just as pictures don’t lie.
There’s an apogee of performance, judging within a time frame…. it’s a high score card.
A drive round the campus on pictorial confirmation speak volume of projects started and completed as well as others on-going by this pro-active, energetic, finesse-driven Rector, Dr. D.D. Baba.
The Tertiary Education Trust Fund(TETFUND) from the Federal Ministry of Education provided the resources, but it takes a radically, determined, God fearing man or leader to administer such funds to culminate in such state-of-the-art, gigantic projects littered all round the campus, is uncommon.
Dr D.D.Baba built Lecture Halls, Administrative Offices for the Architecture, Quantity Survey and Science Technology Schools…all standing in a roll (with a Studio) for Architecture.
They are all equipped. It’s important to state that these Schools were hitherto scattered on the campus before his interventions.
Dr.D.D. Baba also began, completed and furnished lecture theatres for the School of Environmental Studies and that of General and Administrative Studies (SOGAS) was fully renovated by him.
In addition, the School of Engineering and of course, the Department of Office Technology and Management were constructed and fully furnished by him.
VIP toilets has been provided all around the campus, with water to ease their use, not to talk of Solar Powered street lights all over the place.
To curtail encroachment into the campus by neighbouring communities, Dr Baba is constructing a dual carriage road from the Administrative block to Ogbogbo road.
This, no doubt has produced enormous results. To check insecurities too, the incubent Rector has continued the construction of Perimeter fencing round the very massive FPI. This is no child play.
With a mind to bringing all the Management of FPI under one roof, a modern edifice is near completion by Dr David Danjuma Baba.
Little wonder, the Center for Ethics and Self Value Orientation, the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts, the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) have at various occasions, rated Dr Baba very high, hence he has proved John Huston right ” nothing succeeds like reputation” … Continue reading
