The people of Kogi State have been asked to sustain the ongoing development and peace the State is enjoying by voting for Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo and the APC.
Prof. Valentine Ugba, a political scientist and commentator on public affairs, made the disclosure in a chat with the Nigerianpost, praised the quantum leap witnessed in Kogi State under the leadership of Gov. Yahaya Bello.
Prof. Ugba while speaking on the political developments in Kogi State ahead the November governorship election, stressed the need for continuity, insisting that the present administration has proven that it has the will to reposition the State in terms of development and providing the needed security.
The Professor of Political Science, said what makes the Gov. Bello’s administration a positive reference is it ability to manage scarce resources amidst competing needs.
” Kogi State by every standard is in the lower rung of the State receiving huge allocation from the federation account”.
” But it is heart rendering that the administration has provided the needed Basic amenities equitably distributed to parts of the state “.
” What is more appreciative in government is the ability to protect lives and properties and you can not be praised the administration for making the State one of the safest in the country “.
The University don described leadership and governance as a work in progress, explained that what the State needs is a smooth transition from Gov. Bello to Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, pointing out that this would allow for continuity of program and policies.
