Dino, Braimoh, Abejide, Ododo Alabi, Salman, Dolapo Others Notable Nigerians to Attend Iyara Cultural Day on October 28


 

Arrangements have been concluded for this year’s edition of Iyara Cultural Day, the celebration of the indigenous culture of the people of Iyara, Headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

 

A Statement by the National President of Iyara Development Association IDA, Alh. Aliyu Badaki and the Director General of Iyara Cultural Festival, Mr. Samuel Olorundare explained that a part from the celebration of the rich indigenous culture of the Community, the event will also feature the launching of N250million Appeal Fund for Community Development.

According to him, notable Nigerians including Chief Samuel Alabi, Company Secretary of Eko Hotels is the Chairman of the Occasion, while a distinguished daughter of the Community, Deaconess Dolapo Aiyepeku is the Chairperson.

The member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Arc. Salmon Idris is the Chief Launcher with Governorship Candidates of PDP, Sen. Dino Melaye, APC, Ahmed Ododo, AA, Olayinka Braimoh, SDP, Muritala Ajaka as Guests of Honour, with Governor Yahaya Bello as Special Guest of Honour.

It noted that the Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, HRM. Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni and Eleta Oluyara of Iyara, HRH. Oba Jacob Meduteni are Royal Fathers of the Day while sons and daughters of the Community from all walks of life are expected to attend the epoch making ceremony.

“The Iyara Cultural Festival is the celebration of our Unique Culture such as A re Iyawo, meaning Marriage play(how a lady is married in the community, masquerade dance and performance by different cultural troupes.

Also, the event will feature Raffle draws like last year where many consolation prices such as Mobile Phones, Television, Motorcycle etc will be won by those who patronize our tickets.

The statement added that the ceremony will hold at Iyara Town Hall, beginning from 10am on October 28th, 2023.
