By joshua DEMOCRACY DAY: OBYGI COORDINATOR KPANAKI ‘AHEAD AHEAD NO DULLING’ HAILS GOV ODODO, SAYS DEMOCRACY NOW HAS MEANING FOR KOGI YOUTHS
Comr. Victor MD Kpanaki, popularly known as “Ahead Ahead No Dulling”, Coordinator of the Ododo/Oyibo Bassa Youths Grassroots Initiative, OBYGI, has congratulated Nigerians on this year’s Democracy Day celebration, with special appreciation to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
In a goodwill message issued on Thursday in Lokoja, Kpanaki described June 12 as more than a public holiday, calling it “a reminder of the sacrifices made for civil rule and the power of the people’s voice.”
“Democracy Now Has Meaning”
The OBYGI coordinator commended Governor Ododo for giving democracy “real meaning” in Kogi State through youth inclusion, grassroots development, and prompt delivery of democratic dividends.
“Under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, democracy is no longer just about voting every four years. Our people are seeing roads, schools, health facilities, youth empowerment, and a government that listens,” Kpanaki said.
He noted that the Ododo/Oyibo administration has prioritized young people by creating space for them in governance, skills acquisition programs, and community-driven projects that directly impact Bassa and other grassroots communities.
“_Ahead 👉 Ahead 👉 No Dulling_ is our watchword because we cannot afford to dull on progress. Governor Ododo has shown that when leaders are accountable, democracy truly works for the masses,” he added.
Call for Unity and Civic Responsibility
Kpanaki urged youths in Bassa, Kogi, and across Nigeria to remain united, shun violence, and actively participate in nation-building. He said democracy thrives when citizens hold leaders accountable while also supporting good governance.
“As we celebrate Democracy Day, let us protect our unity, defend our votes, and work together for a peaceful, prosperous, and progressive Kogi and Nigeria,” he stated.
He concluded by wishing all Nigerians a peaceful Democracy Day celebration, praying for continued stability and growth under democratic governance.
The Ododo/Oyibo Bassa Youths Grassroots Initiative, OBYGI, is a youth-focused grassroots movement mobilizing young people in Bassa LGA and Kogi State for civic engagement, community development, and support for people-oriented governance.
