Dear Sir,
DEMAND FOR EQUITY: ZONING OF LOKOJA I STATE CONSTITUENCY HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY TICKET TO WARD A AND ENDORSEMENT OF HON. IBRAHIM OSITE MOMOH
We, the undersigned elders, youth leaders, women leaders, and stakeholders of the Egbira community in Ward A, Lokoja LGA, write to your esteemed office with respect and a sense of urgency.
*1. The Case for Ward A*
Since the return to democracy in 1999, Lokoja I State Constituency has produced Members of the Kogi State House of Assembly from [Ward B, Ward C, Ward D], but Ward A — despite being the Egbiras most populous tribe with over registered voters — has never been given the opportunity. This violates the spirit of equity, fairness, and rotation that our great party, the APC, stands for.
*2. Ward A’s Loyalty to APC*
Egbiras in Ward A has remained the strongest base of the APC in Lokoja LGA. In the 2023 General Elections, Ward A delivered votes, representing 40% of total APC votes in Lokoja LGA. We host the party secretariat and have never wavered in our support.
*3. Why Hon. Ibrahim Osite
After extensive consultations, the entire Egbira Lokoja community of Ward A has unanimously resolved to present *Hon. Ibrahim Osite momoh * as our consensus candidate. His credentials include:
- Proven grassroots connection — he lives among us and understands our pains.
- Unblemished loyalty to APC since.
- Capacity to win the general election and give Lokoja quality representation.
Our Prayers:
1. That the APC Kogi State, under your able leadership, zones the Lokoja I State Constituency ticket to Ward A for the 2027 elections in the interest of justice.
2. That Hon. Ibrahim Osite be adopted as the party’s candidate, having been endorsed by the entire Ward A structure.
Sir, justice delayed is justice denied. To continue to marginalize Ward A is to risk the votes and goodwill we have built for APC over the years. We are confident that with OSITE as candidate, APC will not only win Lokoja I but will win it convincingly.
We request an audience with you at your earliest convenience to further present our case.
