COVID-19 Vaccination: Rotary Club Lokoja Metro/CPI Takes Sensitization Advocacy to Lokoja Mega Terminal.

The President of Rotary Club Lokoja Metro, Prof. John Alabi and the Executive Director, Challenged Parenthood Initiative have called on the Primary Health Care Development Agency to make a Covid19 vaccination Centre available in the Lokoja Mega Terminal as the operators and travellers have disclosed their readiness to be vaccinated.

 

The call was made after a sensitization and advocacy visit today by Rotary Club Lokoja Metro and Challenged Parenthood Initiative on the need to increase the uptake of the Covid19 vaccination.

 

Speaking with Newsmen, Prof. Alabi said Rotory Club is concerned about the health of the people, called on Political and Opinion leaders in the State to make frantic efforts to disabuse the minds of the citizens about the myth and misconception of taking the Covid19 vaccination.

 

 

He described the beehive of activities taking place at the LMT as one that requires that a Vaccination point be established at the Park.

 

Prof. Alabi described Covid19 vaccination as free, safe and effective, disclosed that all the misconception of taking the Covid19 vaccination as not true, rather it helps in fighting the Covid19 virus.

 

 

Prof Alabi disclosed that Covid19 vaccination does not cause infertility, has no life threatening reactions, described it as safe and good for pregnant Women and lactating mothers, appealed to citizens to make themselves available for vaccination.

 

He added that all available Covid19 vaccines in the country have been approved by NAFDAC and WHO, said it has no consequences on DNA, advised the people to aside ensuring that they maintain all the Covid19 protocols as a pharmacuetical process, they should go to the nearest Primary Health Care Centres and get vaccinated.

 

In her remarks, the Executive Director, CPI, Eunice Abimbola Agbogun said from the feedbacks received during the sensitization, it has shown and has become obvious that the LMT needs a Vaccination point.

She described the drivers and other operators as well as the travellers are a set of people with need for a Vaccination point in the LMT, said with a Vaccination point at the park, the people who have shown enthusiasm to take the Vaccination will find it convenient to avail themselves for the Vaccination.

She expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the sensitization visit, said it has helped to demystify the several myths and misconception people earlier have about the Covid19 vaccination.
