A Non-Governmental organization Challenged Parenthood Initiative, (CPI) has commanded the people of Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State for recording large numbers of Covid-19 vaccines intake in the State.
The Executive Director of CPI, Ms Eunice Abimbola Agbogun gave the commendation on Friday at an advocacy visit to modern primary health centre Oziokutu in Adavi Local Government of Kogi State.
Agbogun said available record before the organization showed that large numbers of people have taken the covid-19 vaccines in the Local Government which is highly commendable and should be sustained.
Represented by Mrs Mariam Bello, the CPI Executive Director explained that her organization is collaborating with CPI which ensuring that people in Kogi State take Covid-19 Vaccines seriously as it very safe and not life threatening as widely misconstrued in the society
According to her, they are in the health centre to ascertain some of the challenges health workers are facing for the people to take the vaccine and how best the problem can be addressed for improve intake in Kogi State.
Comrade Isah Osuwa local government immunization officer while thanking CPI team for their kind gesture towards saving the lives of the people said their are 10 vaccination centres in Adavi and two secondary health facilities centre.
On the challenges, the local government immunization officer said the issues of enumeration has stagnated their programmes adding that, the support of partners have yielded positive result

He lamented on the negative perception of the people on covid-19 intake stressing that covid-19 is safe and has no adverse effect.

Mrs Maru Shaibu who is in charge of p said when the covid-19 first came, many came for the vaccine but their was a misconception that taking of the vaccine means collecting money.
She said when they received madana vaccine, they are yet to get the second one. She called for help by ensuring that people are motivated to take the vaccine
