A Minna High Court has ordered the Legislative Arms of Paikoro local government council not to appoint any person in Acting capacity as Chairman pending the determination of a motion filled in the Court.

The Vacation Judge Hon.Justice Bilkisu Yusuf Gambo today granted an Ex-Parte Order filed by Hon. Yohanna Yakubu, the Council Chairman of Paikoro Local Government for an Interim Order restraining the Council Legislative Arms of the council from taking any steps against the Chairman .

The court Ordered them to maintain status quo pending the hearing of the Motion on Notice filed by the Applicant (Hon. Yohanna Yakubu).

The court said “all parties are hereby directed to maintain peace within the jurisdiction, pending the determination of the matter on notice and substantive matter already filled before the court”.

This Order is to the effect that Hon. Yohanna Yakubu is still the Council Chairman, Paikoro Local Government council and that”the Paikoro Local Government Legislative Council is to stop henceforth from taking any action whatsoever against Yohanna Yakubu pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice”.

Recall that some time last week, the legislative arm of Paikoro local government council, impeached Mr Yohanna Yakubu, the council chairman of Paikoro local government council on the ground that, since he assumed office, all bills passed by the legislative Arms, none have been implemented.

That tax force on revenue generation was constituted in the local government council up till now the Chairman is yet to feed them with the report and the amount so far generated, among other allegations.
