The Kogi State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comr. Benjamin Jeremiah has in a press conference informed members of the Council of a court order restraining the conduct of the forthcoming State executive election.
In a press conference held today, Comr. Jeremiah said:
“This is to bring to the notice of Members of of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter of a receipt of a court order restraining the conduct of the forthcoming Council election”.
“As a law abiding citizen of Kogi State and a Youth leader, leading by example, I will not go against or disobey a court order”.
“To this end, I wish to call on the Election Management Committee and the Congress Planning Committee, earlier constituted by me of this Court order”.
“Let it however be clearly stated, that the constitution of the NYCN is explicit that having constituted the Management Committee and the Congress Planning Committee, charged with the conduct of the election, I no longer have the powers as a state Chairman to reverse myself except and when another Management meeting is convened”.
“It is to this end therefore that I wish to draw the attention of the ELCOM and CPC members that having informed them earlier of the Court order, urged to maintain status quo and adhere to the letters and Spirit of the Court order”.
