Council Polls: Kogi SIEC Presents Certificates of Return to Elected Council Chairmen


 

The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission has issued certificates of return to the winners of twenty one Local Government Area Council Chairmen who emerged victorious at the weekend polls.

The Kogi State Local Government Election was held on Saturday, with all the All Progressives Congress Party Candidates winning all the seats. The APC also won the 239 Councillorship seats in the State.

Presenting the certificates, the SIEC Chairman, Mamman Nda ERI, said the presentation of certificates marks the climax of the election, commended the people of the State for the peace the ensured during the election.

He tasked the newly elected Chairmen to justify the mandate given to them by the people.

Speaking on behalf of the election Chairmen, Hon. Taofiq Isah, Chairman elect, Ijumu LGA, thanked SIEC for the efforts in conducting the last polls, described the election as peaceful and a watershed in the anals of the politics of the State.

Hon. Taofiq Isah commended Gov. Yahaya Bello for the courage to return elected officials to the Grassroots level of administration, assured that they would work to justify the mandate in line with the people oriented policies of his administration.
