Network of Civil Society Organisations of Nigeria (NOCSON) has thrown in its weight behind Comrade Kaduna Eboigbodi, who is aspiring to become Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Council of Edo State through the Local Government Council polls in the state slated for September.
The position of the group was made public by its President Comrade Ogbidi Emmanuel in a chat with journalists on Tuesday afternoon.
Comrade Ogbidi while recalling Comrade Eboigbodi’s chains of achievements in his earlier days as a civil servant in the local government council system said: “We want to state categorically that if Comrade Kaduna Eboigbodi is given an opportunity to become Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Council he is going to break records of local government administration in this country.
“So, at this point we want to lend our voice to call on major stakeholders of his political party (PDP), the governor and leaders of Orhionmwon to consider capacity, to consider character and to consider charisma which are embedded in the person of Comrade Eboigbodi who have served the people; who knows what it takes to deliver the dividends of democracy to the grassroot.
“He did it while he was in the service and the various unions at the local government level. He did it when he was opportuned to serve in Uhunmwode as Head of the local government administration. His records are there.”
Going further, he stated: “He has been a pioneer organiser of the civil society community. In the labour angle he has been a voice of the voiceless, promoting and advocating for the workers. Even in the community level he has been there with the people. He knows their plight, he knows what they need. He knows what the farmers need, he knows what the market women need.
“He knows what the leaders need. He knows how to synergise and cross pollinate ideas with everybody and take Orhionmwon to the next level.”
