Comr. Williams Celebrates Birthday With Prison Inmates Pay NECO Fees

The Transition Chairman of Olamaboro LGA Comr Ameh Williams, On Saturday Celebrated his Birthday With Prison Inmates, widows, Visited Various Hospitals To Help The Sick Across Olamaboro.

 

The Chairman Admonished The Inmates to Leave The Prison Better Than They Came, the chairman charged them to participate in Crafts, and lessons that will enable them become better persons in the society.

The Kogi State Comptroller of Prison Lokoja Command, in his remarks during the prison visit commended Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for appointing the People’s choice Mr Williams as CTC, described the transition Chairman of Olamaboro LGA as a passionate soul who is loved by many within 2 months in office because of his infrastructure and human development agenda for the local government.

He appreciated him for his decision to celebrate his birthday with prison inmates, Widows and the sick in hospitals.

According to the comptroller who was represented by Mr Emmanuel Adekoele Ojo, said the Chairman’s choice of the Ankpa Prison as venue of his birthday celebration was the first by any serving Local Government Chairman since the facility was established in Ankpa to cover the 3 local government and beyond, noting that it was an indication of his humility and preparedness to serve both the rich, the society’s poor and downtrodden.

Thanking Governor for his support to the command, he said: “your prompt intervention during the Koton karfi jailbreak few years ago, renovation of the Prison, granting of pardon to deserving inmates as well as the release of funds for the procurement of drugs to prison inmates clearly demonstrate Governor’s humane leadership”.

They further explained that the state had been leading the crusade against having underaged children in prison and called on relevant authorities to stem the tide.

Addressing the inmates, Comr Williams said that he was at the prison to celebrate with them and see firsthand how his administration could help improve the welfare of inmates especially those 19 inmates from Olamaboro local government.

“It is indeed cardinal responsibility of the government to cater for the wellbeing of everybody and every segment, group or class in the society. We have in this respect taken full notice of the sewage and allied challenges confronting this prison and have resolved to take necessary measures to address them adequately and satisfactorily,” said the governor has donated various items to the command in the Past.

To commemorate the birthday celebration Williams Donated Cash to Inmates, Widows, Paid NECO Fees for 2 inmates, Donated Bags of Rice to Inmates, Widows and other food items across hospitals in Olamaboro LGA, A charity he dedicated to The Executive Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo said is from the Magnanimity heart of the Governor and his wife.
