COMR. TADE ADEYEMI’S COURAGE, COMMITMENT YIELDING RESULT, EXPECTATIONS.

The recent release of promotion for Local Government workers in Kogi State has necessitated this write-up that with doggedness, ability to manage the course, results are achievable without confrontation.
Abu Oshiomeh writes on the leadership of Comr. Tade Adeyemi, Kogi NULGE president says with collective support and believe on leadership, more results are possible in 2022 without necessary engaging in confrontation with the government.

It takes doggedness, sincerity, consistency and commitment as a labour leader to achieve result in the present dispensation. The recent release of promotion of workers in the Local Government levels of administration is receiving applause across the State.
At the end of 2021, the Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello kept to his promise and directed the Local Government Service Commission to release the 2018 promotion of workers in the Local Government.
Several hundreds of the workers erupted in joy at the feat and many tongues are still discussing end of year surprise, commending the leadership of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), who fought gallantly to make it happen.

That leadership at the NULGE level has been challenging is no longer news to many, what is however news is the ability of Comr. Tade Adeyemi the State President to hold his heads above the level waters is what is the issue of discourse and commendation.
Comr. Tade has never shied away from the fact that things are no longer the way it is with the Local Government workers placed on percentage salaries. He however says it is a challenge occasioned by the shortfalls on monthly allocation to the third tier of government in Nigeria. In fact he is quick to say that the administration of Government must be praised for his prompt payment of salaries, said he is a man whose heart is with the Local Government staffers, unfortunately, the dwindling allocation, coupled with several loans owed by some LGAs has made it difficult to insist on the payment of full salaries as the case may be.
The State NULGE President is however optimistic that 2022 will experience a new lease of life for Local Government workers.
For Tade Adeyemi, the payment of the new minimum wage, release of other promotion due to the staff are his major prayers for the Local Government in 2022 without overstating the obvious, looking at the challenge, observers are quick to say that Comr. Tade has succeeded in keeping NULGE afloat. As at today, except for a few, almost all the workers placed on the uncleared lists numbering about15,000 (fifteen thousand) have since being cleared and returned to the payroll of the government.
For Tade, half bread is better than nothing, hopes that things cannot remain the same forever. The State President has equally not rested on his oars in battling the issues of career review. His correspondences to the appropriate authorities have been acknowledged and he hopes that light will soon shine at the end of the tunnel.

One staying power of Comr. Tade is his ability to make demands and make his members welfare a priority, yet without confrontation with the powers be. For him dialogue remains sacrosanct and he has not failed in recognizing that times have changed, with lobby, discourse and more importantly, the strength of his members should be the paramount interest. For many, NULGE in Kogi State when compared to the other union seems to be the winner in the reforms of government, even though many may also want to argue differently.
A man with the heart that is concerned about the interest, welfare of his members and their family, Comr. Tade has no doubt won the heart of many in the State as he has employed an approach that has made NULGE members, unlike in other States of the Federation, loose their jobs and are at confrontation with government.
For many, Comr. Tade is a man of valour, a silent revolutionary, he has in no small measure, contributed to stabilizing NULGE a feat that is earning him commendation in several quarters of discourse.
An advocate of humanitarianism, Comr. Tade strongly believes that a life lived for others and not himself remains his greatest promise. Focused on the struggle, for him, he will at every opportunity appeal to members to hold on with their patience as the tomorrow they look up to will be better, only if they remain as members of NULGE and staffers of their Local Government.
In 2022, the NULGE President express optimism that the achievement the Union made in the past would be surpassed in the new year. He reassured of his commitment to workers welfare as a priority. For Tade, the New minimum wage, returning workers who are still on uncleared list are returned to the cleared lists, release of promotion and cash backing of promotion will form his core priority, assured that those struggles will no doubt be achieved.
The NULGE President expressed commendations to the Local Government Service Commission for always making priority the issues of the workers welfare while he looks forward to a rewarding years, called on the Commission to strive for improved workers welfare. The NULGE President equally expressed optimism that the challenges of Local Government workers will remain a thing of the past if Governor Yahaya Bello is elected as President, expressed optimism that he will no doubt solve the numerous challenges of autonomy and improve allocation to the tier of government.
To the workers, Comr. Tade commends them for their resilience in the face of several challenges they are passing through, however thanked God all for their lives and for still remaining in the service, expressed confidence that 2022, will be a year for Local Government staffers in Nigeria, particularly those in Kogi State.
As it is said, Leadership is influence. It is a life journey and not a brief trip as postulated by John Maxwell. This no doubt vividly captures the summation of the leadership of Comr. Tade Adeyemi, Kogi State NULGE President.
With a dream and aspiration that is people centered, what is left is for members to have believe in their leader, just as he the President believes in them and has made them the fulcrum of his leadership. Thus far, amidst challenges, Comr. Tade has proven to be a go-getter, and a worthy labour leader, worthy to be emulated by others for their members to continue to remain relevant as they look forward to a rewarding year.
An epitome of kindness, a humane heart, with his disposition to members, it is hoped that 2022 will no doubt lead to the several harvest of the seeds planted over the years by Comr. Tade, which he has always looked forward to for his members.
