COALITION OF CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATION PASSES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON MINISTER OF STATE FOR DEFENSE HON. BELLO MATAWALLE
Over 25 Civil Society Organizations CSOs and Non- Governmental Organizations NGOs has Passed a Vote of absolute Confidence on the Hon. Minister of State for Defense Dr. Bello Matawalle.
The group at a World Press Conferences held at the Barcelona Hotel Wuse 2 Abuja Tuesday October 31th, 2023 said the Hon. Minister having Served as a former Governor of the Mineral Resources rich Zafara State for fours when the Probl noem of Banditry was at it peak Coupled with other key Positions he held in the past,was absolutely and adequately qualify to Steer the Ship of the Ministry of defense even as the Second in Command.
Speaking at the Press Conference, the Convener, Ambassador Jacob Luka noted that from their exhaustive appraisal and Scrutiny of the Stewardship of The Hon. Minister of State for defense Dr. Bello Matawalle in his past and present positions,he is a tested and trusted leader with impeacable and unquestionable integrity who possessed the Capacity, Capability and equanimity to Saddle the Office and deliver his duties as required by the law.
Continuing,Amb. Jacob pointed out that, as a group with the operational Mandate to promote good governance, accountability, transparency, the rule of law as well as an anti Corruption Crusader, the leadership of the 25 CSOs and NGOs deem it expedient and necessary to rally millions of Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora to pass Vote of absolute Confidence on Hon.Dr.Bello Matawalle the Minister of State for defense.
He Stressed that the World Press Conference was in response to the actions of Some paid agents, Political Saboteurs and despicable Mischief Makers directed at the Hon. Minister Calling for his resignation and his Sack as enemies of the State, explaining further that the Hon Minister was not an entity in the Ministry, there was Still a Senior Minister, permanent Secretary and Directors who Collectively Manned the affairs of the Ministry, adding that as such the Minister of State for defense has no Such Veto Power over Critical issues and affairs of the Ministry, and that hadn’t Committed any offence that Should warrant such calls from transducers and unpatriotic antagonistic few, he queried.
While Commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to have found Hon.Dr Bello Matawalle Worthy to Serve as a Member of the Federal executive Council, the group further Called on the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party and PDP in the February 25, 2023 Presidential Election to join forces with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to move the Nation forward,even as they also Called on the Governor of Zamfara State to Support his Predecessor for the interest of the state and Nigeria at large.
