De-Wills Baseball Team Gears Up for West African Tour to Promote Baseball and Eco-Awareness

De-Wills Baseball team has officially kicked off their preparation camp on the 4th of August, 2024 at the Kwara State Baseball Park Adewole Ilorin, in anticipation of their upcoming West African tour set to begin on 1st September.

The team, led by General Coordinator, Coach Jacob Dennis Albert Dede, is gearing up for a whirlwind tour of 7 West African countries including Benin, Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Gambia, and Liberia.

The tour, aimed at developing the game of baseball in the West African region, promoting the West African Baseball league, and showcasing the talent of West African players to the world, is set to be a ground-breaking event for the sport in the region.

In addition to their mission to promote baseball, De-Wills Baseball team will also be engaging in a cultural exchange by planting trees in each country they visit. This initiative aims to raise awareness about climate change and promote environmental conservation in the West African region.

Coach Dede expressed his excitement about the upcoming tour, stating, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to promote baseball in West Africa and showcase the incredible talent of our players. By engaging in cultural exchange activities like tree planting, we hope to spread awareness about important environmental issues and make a positive impact in each country we visit.”

As the team continues to train and prepare for their West African tour, fans and supporters can expect an action-packed and inspiring journey as De-Wills Baseball team sets out to make their mark on the international baseball scene.
