… Calls on Gov. Bello, Bassa LG Chairman, Lawmaker for help
Mrs Lade Faith Sunday who is down with breast cancer needs five hundred thousand naira for surgery to enable her to live again.
Mrs Sunday, 27 years old, hails from Bassa Local Government Area of kogi State, who is nursing a six months old daughter is passionately appealing to the Executive Governor of Kogi state His excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and his wife to come to her aid to save her from this terrible life threatening disease.
She is equally calling on the Chairman of Bassa Local Government Council, Member Representing Bassa in the State House of Assembly; Member Representing Dekina/Bassa federal Constituency, Corporate Organisations, Religious Institutions, Individuals to help defray the cost of the surgery.
According to her, her predicament started in 2017, which has taken her to different Hospitals and all manner of prayer homes with heavy financial burdens on her and the family to no avail.
She said to compound her situation, her father who have been supportive, lost his job, even as her husband’s job was terminated leaving them at the mercy of God and good Samaritans.
” I have gone to different Hospitals and prayer homes without remedy. I was told that if i become pregnant, the lump on my breast would dry off. So, i took in, but the lump kept growing until i gave birth six months ago.
” I had normal delivery, but my daughter cannot enjoy mother child bond like other children, because there is no breast for her to suck. I was advised to do baby friendly, but i have no money, so, my daughter lives on pap from day one.
” When we came here- Mom Orphanage Hospital, i was placed on admission preparatory for surgery to get the affected breast removed to prevent it from affecting the second one. I was charged Five hundred thousand naira ( #500,000) for the cost of operation but, we cannot raise the fee. We have been here for months now, hoping to get assistance to no avail” she lamented.
Meanwhile, the North Central Coordinator of Civil Society Coalition for the Eradication of Cancer in Nigeria CISCANEN, Pastor Roseline Omowunmi Alabi commended Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello and his wife for their support to the Organisation which has brought those were appointed to die through cancer to live again.
She appealed to him as Oliver Twist to rescue this little nursing mother , who has been in terrible and painful situation for many years to under go the surgery to rekindle her hope of living a normal life.
According to her, for the past two months, the Organisation has been making appeal to individuals without positive response, hence, using this medium to solicit helps from Nigerians to save citizen Lade John to live.
While urging Nigerians to send in their widow’s mite said no amount is too small and too big to help, lamenting that Lade has been in pains for many years.
In the same vein, the state coordinator of CISCANEN, Ben Joshua said, the Association has been going round in their little way to help cancer patients.
” Cancer is pandemic and deadly. In most cases, victims are vulnerable who cannot afford the bills. As a coalition of civil society, we mobilise resources for the Eradication of cancer in our society. We had a report in our office that there is a patient in Mom Orphanage Hospital here in Crusher. We have seen her condition, and to worsen the woes, she is lactating a baby.
” We want to use this opportunity to Appeal to all NIgerians, Government at all levels, civil society, Churches, mosques to save a soul and we believe that Nigerians are their brothers keepers. I urge all and sundry to join hands with us to bring her back to normal life. Hence , no amount is too small and too big.” He appealed.
