CITATION OF ETUDAIYE HUSSEIN ADINOYI (Ph.D)


 

Dr. Hussein Adinoyi Etudaiye (DaddyHuss), Engr. Abdulrahman Okino Otuoze Ph.d and Dr. Juliet Okibayi Muoneme (Dr. JJ)
who recently bagged Doctorate Degrees and PhD were Honoured to a reception by Family and Friends. Below is a rich citation of a man described by many at the occasion as an Agricultural Expert per Excellence.

 

 

 

Dr. Hussein Adinoyi Etudaiye fondly called DADDYHUSS is a product of life’s Food Chemistry. He is here today as a product of the love reaction between the bonding and affinity of his father, Alhaji Sule Etudaiye (of blessed memory) and his mother, Hajjia Medinat Sule Etudaiye, both from Ebira Opete Kingdom, Kogi State. The product of love equilibrium before you today, was born on the 10th day of January, 1975.

 

He had his elementary study at Ansaru Deen Primary School, Offa, Kwara State. He obtained his Senior School Certificate of Examination from the prestigious Offa Grammar School, Offa, Kwara State, the first community secondary school in Nigeria. He holds a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Biochemistry from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, an M.Sc and Ph.D (Hons) degrees in Food Science and Technology from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike and University of Nigeria, Nsukka, respectively.

 

His National Youth Service Corps was at Nigeria Breweries Plc, Aba where he worked as Quality Control Analyst, Brewing Department.

 

Hussein works at National Root Crops Research Institute (NRCRI), Umudike, Abia State, Nigeria. He is the Head of Otobi Substation, NRCRI, Benue State (2017 till date). He is Root and Tuber Crops Post Harvest Specialist and Food Chemist.
He has 19 years cognate experience in Root and Tuber Crops Research, with focus on Production, Processing, Value Addition, Storage, Utilization, Quality control and Market Development. He is a Professional member of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Society of Nigeria (ASN) and International Society for tropical Root Crops (ISTRC).
He was Head, Fermentation Unit, Product Development and Biotechnology Programme of the Institute (2011 to 2017).

 


He was a visiting Ph.D Student Scientist at Greenwich University, Natural Resources Institute, Kent, United Kingdom under the Yam Improvement for Income and Food Security in West (YIIFSWA) Project Africa.
He won a Ph.D Academic Award by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation under Yam for Income and Food Security in West Africa (YIIFSWA) project. A Master Degree Academic Award by The International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan under the Cassava Mosaic Disease (CMD) project.

Hussein is a registered member of Nigeria Cassava Growers Association (NCGA), Kogi State Chapter. His colleagues and friends call him Mr. Cassava.

He is a member of NGOs: Advocacy for Peace and Educational Development in Ebira land (APEX- E) and Proudly Anebira (PA).

He was appointed as Part Time Board Member to Kogi State Agricultural Development Project (ADP) from October 2017 to January 2020.
He is presently a member of the Board of Directors, Umudike Seed company, Abia State.

He is a Resource Person on Cassava Value Chain to World Bank Agro Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Support (APPEALS) Project, Kogi State.

His hobbies are reading and writing, research, tennis and of course, he loves to hang out with his friends who are endowed with positive ideas that can make the world a better place.

Outside academic, research and development, Hussein has passion for clothing and a bit of politics.

He is happily married to lovely Ladi Hussein Etudaiye, and blessed with two lovely children (AbdulJaleel Onoruoiza and Amirah Onyinoyi).
