Chieftain urges PDP to ensure genuine reconciliation for victory in Kogi State

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Usman Okai Austin said on Monday in Abuja that the party needed to ensure reconciliation of aggrieved members especially those who contested along with Sen. Dino Melaye, said it was expedient for the PDP to emerge victorious at the 2023 general elections.
“A factionalized PDP will find it difficult to winelections in Kogi State in 2023. Fortunately we have time to heal wounds.
“The national headquarters and the leadership in the state can step in, bring everybody together, unite everybody genuinely and the party will regain power.
asked Senator Dino Melaye to ensure immediate establishment of strong reconciliation committee to reach out to aggrieved and other aspirants who contested against him in just concluded Primary.
Okai while addressing media in lokoja says challenges of reconciling aggrieved members to ensure one family before the November election is very key and pivotal to the victory at the poll,
Kogi Governorship election 2023 mean a lot for the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in terms of rebuilding the party and reconciling aggrieved members of the party, the resolution should go beyond window dressing.
He also tasked the leadership of the party not to leave the job alone to the Candidate, he said “The basic duty of a political party is not only to win elections but to ensure harmony amongst its teaming members”
He reminded the party leader and the candidate that, the governorship election cycle in November may appear far, but it is not quite so. Every minute inches towards the election. This means a lot to the PDP.
Okai had charged his party to focus on rebuilding and strengthening the party for the challenges of the governorship elections, November 16 governorship elections, is a must win for us and we must do all we can to have one house before the date.
Okai also tasked the National leadership of the party to take necessary steps to intervene in the overall interest of PDP in Kogi state.
