Chambers of Commerce, agents of business growth, development – Lagos Perm Sec

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Cooperative and Industry, Lagos State, Dr Oluwagbemiga Aina, has described Chambers of Commerce as agents of business growth and development.

 

He added that they are platforms for the business community to proffer proactive actions for businesses to thrive.

 

According to a statement on Monday, he spoke when a delegation of Kosofe Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) led by Founder/President, KCCI, Mr. Joe Femi-Dagunro, paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Cooperative and Industry.

 

Other members of delegation were: Chairman, Supreme Microfinance Bank, Mr. Jide Aremo; Architect Olufemi Fabuyi and, Director-General, KCCI, Mr. Abayomi Baruwa.

 

Aina advised the Chamber’s delegation to organize events and activities that can bring about exposures and recognition of business potential in the state.

 

He also expressed his happiness on the re-union with Femi-Dagunro after their last meeting in Germany where Femi-Dagunro facilitated the training of Nigerian medical doctors.

 

The permanent secretary also recalled the support of the KCCI Founder when he facilitated hospital equipment for Lagos state hospitals which he championed as donations.

 

He also noted that Femi-Dagunro also facilitated the establishment of one of the world’s largest microfinance funders, Oikocredit in Lagos State.

 

Femi-Dagunro thanked Aina for his warm reception and informed the host on the essence of the establishment of Kosofe Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

 

He used the opportunity of the visit to inform Aina of the upcoming Kosofe Economic Dialogue (KED) that is scheduled for Thursday, September 26, 2024.

 

Femi-Dagunro solicited assistance and partnership from the Ministry to develop and promote a viable economic growth in the region.
