Breaking: Sen. Dino Melaye Picks Kogi PDP Governorship Ticket


 

 

Sen. Dino Melaye has won the People’s Democratic Party Governorship ticket for Kogi State.

 

Sen. Melaye in a Congress held at Kefas Multipurpose Hall, pulled over fifty percent of the votes cast.

Sen. Melaye pulled over 300 votes to beat his closest rival Barr. Kabiru Usman who had over 100 votes.

In a tension soaked election, with protest leading to the Congress over the delegates list, the process however went on smoothly, with the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Sen. Dino pulled 313 votes while Ilona Idoko had 124 votes. Hon Kabiru Usman garnered 121 votes while former Deputy Governor, Awoniyi scored 77 votes and the PDP governorship candidate in 2019 Engr Musa Wada had a total of 56 votes.

Announcing the result, former Kaduna State Governor, Sen. Ahmed Maikarfi declared Sen. Melaye as winner of the Kogi State Governorship Primary.
