…. as His Royal Majesty Alhaji Abdulrazak Isah Koto gives Royal blessings to flag off distribution .
A philanthropist, Hon Bilkis Shuaib Tatu stormed Koton-Karfe on Friday, 15th October, 2021 with the sensitization and distribution of hygiene materials to women and girls under the umbrella of Bilkis Tatu Cares Initiative.
Flagging off the sensitization and distribution of the hygiene materials in the palace of Ohimege of Koton-Karfe, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Abdulrazak Isah Koto, the convener of Bilkis Tatu Cares Initiative, Hon Bilkis Shuaib Tatu, said the gesture was part of her broad intervention programme to change theatre narrative and social integrity of the women and girls in Kogi.
The non profit and non governmental organization “Bilkis Tatu Cares Initiative” distributed hygiene materials to over 300 women and girls in Koton-Karfe, to press forward it’s mission for a healthy society.
Among the hygiene items donated include; soaps and detergents, sanitary consumables, antiperspirants, perfumes, toilet tissue, sanitary wipes, toothpastes, etc.
The convener disclosed that the initiative in addition to progressively providing the materials to the women, is also involved in the responsive sensitization of the women and young girls of the organization’s activities including providing explanations on the need for social interaction amongst their pairs, home and self management, girl-child education and even women empowerment.
She also stated that “the major essence of this intervention is to complement the efforts of our stakeholders to uplift the integrity of every woman and young girl in our homeland by touching positively on the lives of the women and girls with sensitization, donations and contributions from this Initiative ”
The Ohimege and President Kogi Local Government Traditional Council, Alhaji Abdulrazak Isah Koto, while speaking at the flag off ceremony, commended Bilkis Tatu Cares Initiative for it’s initiatives to care for the women and girls in our home land.
His Royal Majesty expressed happiness and gave profuse blessings on the organization and advised them to ensure that the items got to the target persons.
He called on various spirited individuals to emulate the exemplary gesture of Bilkis Tatu Cares Initiative to address the women needs in the homeland.
While praying for the convener of “Bilkis Tatu Cares Initiative” for her laudable program, he also pledged the palace’s support in this regard.
The first phase of the distribution of the hygiene materials commenced after extensive lectures by some notable personalities with beneficiaries expressing joy and happiness.
Spokesperson of the beneficiaries, Hajiya Maimuna Iyami Shuaibu Tatu, the Sarauniya of Koton Karfe thanked the donor for her help with the assurance to make judicious use of the materials and lectures received.
In her remarks, she calls on all other stakeholders in Koton-Karfe to join hands in putting the confidence in our women and girl-child in our society.
The occasion was attended by many dignitaries including Hon Shaba Ibrahim, House of Representatives Member, representing Lokoja- Koto Federal Constituency, who gave a vote of thanks and urged everybody to join hands in supporting whatever would improve the living standard of women and girls in our society, as convened by Bilkis Tatu Cares Initiative .
He therefore assures the convener of his total support.
