For many who have crossed the path of Barr. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem,(SEA), the All Progressives Congress Flagbearer for Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, it is safe to say that from the onset, he has always thought development and the well-being of his people.
This traits is not something he developed recently because he is aspiring to represent his people, preponderance of evidence would show that, Barr. Sanni, all his life’s action, revolves around his people, well-being and the development of the Constituency.
The danger of writing about the personality of SEA in today’s politics of Ajaokuta Federal Constituency is obvious as the writer would not run the risk of being misrepresented as a political praise singer. Without mincing words, Barr. Sanni’s lifestyle and action revolves around peace, unity and development.
Barr. Sanni is a
man who has broken from time immemorial broken away from the shackles of tribalism and ethnicity known to have served as a major barrier in Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, to one who embraces all shades, irrespective of divides and affiliation.
While times, season and tide can cast a writer to be described as a bootlicker, especially, if the subject of his adulation suffers a reversal of fortune, materially or reputation-wise, with Barr. Sanni, his age long lifestyle shows that you can safely write to predict him because, you can be sure that years later, just as it is happening now, his stock will remain bullish. This is because all his thoughts are development driven and whenever opportunities present itself, he never fails to actualize age long development for his people.
Barr. Sanni has remained as constant as the Northern Star in the affairs of leadership, as he is presently exhibiting as the APC Flagbearer for Ajaokuta Federal Constituency where his past and present are making many to on a daily basis get attracted to him, thus swelling his support base ahead the February election.
Today, like he has done in the past even without the iota of going to seek the people’s votes, he has been touching lives in positive ways. This can be seen in his legacies of building bridges, schools, supporting communities with livelihoods and infrastructure.
Indeed, to those who know Barr. Sanni closely and personally, SEA as he is fondly called, is an enigma: humble, self-effacing, industrious, practical, efficient by nature, diligent, always thinking about things he needs to accomplish to put smiles on faces and lift up lives through empowerment and assistance.
In plain terms, SEA is a case of a man who set out to always make a difference wherever he finds himself. He is not the kind of difference other men pursue to grandstand, but the type that impacts humanity and makes life easier for people.
A look back at his trajectory gives a chronicle of exemplary service to Ajaokuta Federal Constituency and a profile of pure patriotism from an individual who from a humble beginning, through dint of hardwork and the benevolence of God Almighty, though unassumely, has made success out of life, with concern for the less privileged.
It is important to place on record that as far back as the year 2000, then as a Revenue Officer with Ajaokuta LGA, Barr. Sanni muted and conceptualized the idea for the creation of a cattle abattoir and motor park in Ajaokuta town . For him since 22 years ago, this he envisaged was going to be a source of revenue for the local government.
Having convinced the Local Government then 22 years ago, Barr. Sanni personally took up the project and deployed personal resources to commence work on the allotted area for the designated purpose.
But as fate would have it, his personal efforts didn’t pay off then. But because he was a man who had a dream, he held on to it. And in life, there comes always a time for opportunity to meet with preparation. This for Barr. Sanni is the time, as it further present him again the opportunity like it is being witnessed now to actualize age long ideas for the generality of his people.
For those who know Ajaokuta very well, Zango is a popular cattle market. People have now taken over the settlement, an area SEA negotiated and wanted to introduce as an abattoir years back.
Similarly, SEA saw another revenue earner located around the Lions Club area where years back he proposed for Motor Park. Presently, the place is being used as a mechanic village.
It is important to State that several years ago, SEA started the fencing of the motor park halfway, including the grading for commencement of activities.
Unfortunately, the idea died owing to a change in the leadership of the Local Government. But in keeping with his aspiration and vision for the Zango village, 22 years after, SEA has provided transformer, electricity poles,drainage and other facilities to enhance business activities at the abattoir through his personal efforts.
Furthermore, SEA has taken the Zango settlement project now as a priority to another zenith. This he says will receive further attention if voted into the House of Representatives by the Grace of God, where he hopes to mobilize more resources to actualize his age long desires and dreams of making the federal Constituency economically viable and self sustaining.
For now, SEA also has the plan to maintain the original concept of the Ajaokuta motor park which at present serves as mechanic village, with future plans to make it a modern park in view of the gateway status of the area.
Overall, SEA thinks and believes that his personal efforts will help boost the revenue base of the Local Government and Federal Constituency, maintaining that the value chain these centres will provide would help improve the economic well-being of his people.
A practical Barr. Sanni has shown that where there is a will, the necessity of firm action in such grave matters as would impact upon the lives of the people can be realized with focus and passion as is being presently displayed in Ajaokuta Federal Constituency.
For Barr. Sanni, his exploits did not come as a surprise. Everywhere he has served, he has always left indelible marks and his candidature as APC Flagbearer for Ajaokuta Federal Constituency has attracted many followers to see the forthcoming election as a time to payback for having passion of the people.
If the Abattoir at the Zango area and Motor Park seem a distant memory, here before us, is what is fast becoming a locus classicus of leadership, this rejuvenation of the APC Flagbearer for Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, which stands in sharp contrast to past representation, against his positive impact. Barr. Sanni has remained an exhibit of pride of the APC ahead the forthcoming general election.
Without any doubt, there is a swell in the number of students of the Barr. Sanni School of servant leadership. The younger generation, who only heard of his exploits of yesteryears are now seeing evidence of management skills, and are paying attention to the lessons therein.
Right before their eyes, Barr. Sanni is teaching the anatomy of how to make service to humanity a lifestyle.
Today, Barr. Sanni stands tall as a colossus, one of Kogi’s emblems of capable representation, an amalgam of the best of Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, far removed from the divide and rule sentiment that has polarized the Constituency. Barr. Sanni’s cosmopolitan outlook has won him friends from all sides and a firm recognition as a one-of-a-kind representation Ajaokuta Federal Constituency needs in 2023.
