Bagana Crisis: KGHA Commend Hon. Aboh For Quick Response


 

Executive Chairman of Omala Local Government Area, Hon. Chief (Alh) Ibrahim Yakubu Aboh has received applause from Kogi State Legislative arm in his swift response in averting further loss of lives and properties in recent killing of four persons in Bagana.

 

They gave the commendation when a special committee from Kogi State House of Assembly (KGHA) came on a condolence visit and fact finding mission.

 

Earlier in his welcome address, the Executive Chairman thanked the committee for the visit. He said, “we are grateful to you for finding time out of your busy schedule to make this visit. In addition to what we are doing here to quell this crisis, your coming will help fast track our peace restoration process”.

“We are poised by the support received by His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi since the incident occurred and in all our correspondences. We won’t relent in our pursuit for peace until criminal elements find no safe haven any where”.

 

In his address, member representing Omala State Constituency, Hon. Prince Collins A.H. Musa lauded the prompt response of the Executive Chairman, saying “we got every details of how responsive you were to what happened. This special committee is here to condole with the people of Bagana and Omala at large, and to equally compliment your wonderful efforts in tackling insecurity in the area”.

“The state assembly condemn the killings and pray for the repose of the departed. Though painful that four souls were lost in that incident, we frown at blowing the number out of proportion through social media, urging peddlers of such stories to desist”.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Empowerment (Kogi East), Hon. Matthew Ochada urged the people to be consoled as he assured them of the New Direction Government’s effort in securing lives and properties. He praised the good work of the Chairman and thanked Governor Yahaya Bello for providing support, guidance and care for his people.

The special committee is made up of Hon. Prince Collins Musa, Hon. Jimoh Omiyata, Hon. Aderonke Aro and Hon. Anthony Ujah Bobby.

Their first point of call was office of the Executive Chairman before proceeding to the scene of the incident in Bagana and finally the Palace of Onuh Ife, HRH Chief Boniface U. Musa (Ojoogba) in Abejukolo.

The committee promised to legislate on the matter in their next sitting at the chamber and put the request for Naval Outpost and Marine Police by Chairman in fore front.
