An urgent call not to cut off the Okun nation from other parts of Nigeria due to bad roads has been made by Prince Dayo Akanmode, an APC Chieftain.
In a statement which reads: ” I am trying not to be tagged an alarmist or a prophet of doom but I foresee a situation whereby Okun may be cut off from other parts of the country at the end of the raining season.God forbid .
This is due to the bad road network. The most deplorable is the Aiyetoro Egbe road which many abandoned for Ekiti that had better roads. Unfortunately, with the recent problem between Iyara and Iyamoye, the Aiyetoro Egbe road has become the saving grace especially for those travelling to Ilorin. The stone that was rejected has now become the cornerstone.I am right on Aiyetoro Egbe road in pain and lamentation because of the precarious situation of a road that seems to be the only alternativefor now. For how long will this agony and nightmare last for a road that has been awarded several times for construction. perharps there may be one or two people on this medium that can speak on this situation .
I may just be lucky to be heard as I speak aloud. I wonder who has done this to us. God have mercy”.
