Ata Igala commended for restoring Italo festival


 

The publisher of the Confluence Trust Newspaper, Hon. Solomon Agada has commended His Royal Majesty, Atta Igala and President, Kogi State Council of Chiefs, Alaji Matthew Opaluwa Oguche Akpa 11 for restoring Italo festival and also maintaining Anyigba as its venue.


Hon. Agada made the commendation in a press statement issued to Newsmen in Lokoja, emphasized that the Ata Igala meant well for the overall development of his kingdom and the entire state.

Agada called on all Igala sons and daughters to give maximum support to the 30 man Italo 2022 committee to ensure Igala gets its rightful place in the comity of tribes in Nigeria.

Hon. Solomon Agada equally solicited for the cooperation of all Igala associations to key into the programme for the overall success of the occasion.

It could be recalled that, Italo festival was banned for some years due to some political rivalries that ensued between two sons of the Igala kingdom, but HRM stated that the aims and objectives of the festival is beyond the interest of a few individuals, stressed that the continuity of the festival would enhance Igala unity, peace and development, he stated.
