ASUU Strike: UNIBEN Students Block Federal Secretariat at Benin

There was a heavy traffic jam around the Federal Secretariat Aduwawa and Ramat park axis of Benin City as Students from University of Benin prevented workers working in the federal ministries from gaining access to their offices protesting over the closure of schools as a result of the Prolong ASUU Strike.

 

As early as 7am, the students who trooped to the Secretariat
blocked the main gate of the office complex .

The students called on the Federal Govt and ASUU to settle their differences, to pave way for their resumption.

The gate to the Secretariat was later forced open by the ravaging students as they occupied the premises preventing any one from coming near.

Commercial activities were disturbed around the area,as well as the busy Benin- Auchi road thereby making commuters stranded.

The is the second time the students are demonstrating in Edo against ASUU Strike.

The first one they blocked the busy Benin-Lagos road preventing motorist from passing.
