Comrade Ali Yakubu revealed that the demise of Dr. Ejiga Abubakar Isa, who was also the Chief Imam of Ejule, is not only a loss to the Polytechnic community but also to the entire Muslim Ummah in Kogi State.
The ASUP chairman, who also serves as the Chairman of the Federal Polytechnic Idah Staff School Governing Board, disclosed this to journalists during the 8th-day Fidau prayers held for the repose of the soul of the late Dr. Ejiga Abubakar in Ejule on May 14, 2026.
In his glowing tribute, Comrade Ali described the deceased as a man of impeccable integrity and humility personified, who never discriminated against people irrespective of their religious, academic, or social backgrounds.
Continuing, Comrade Ali further stated that those who were close to the late Dr. Ejiga could hardly find fault in him, adding that anyone who sought errors in his character needed to first examine their own.
He added that the sudden demise of Dr. Ejiga Abubakar was proof that God’s plans differ from those of man.
“He was heading to the burial ceremony of one of our colleagues, late Onalo Ekele, when he suddenly slumped and died,” he said.
Comrade Ali further remarked that the mammoth crowd that attended both the burial and the 8th-day Fidau prayers was a clear testament to the fact that the late Dr. Ejiga Abubakar was loved, respected, and deeply missed by many.
