A frontline Gubernatorial aspirant under the party, All Progressives Congress and the immediate former Commissioner of Finance,Budget and Economic Planning, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA has delivered his polling unit, Ward and the entire Yagba East LGA to APC and the candidate of the party, Prince Emmanuel Obaro, who is now a member elect after scoring the highest lawful vote at the poll.
Testimonials have it that Asiwajus inclusive and humane leadership with support of other party structure made the huge success possible in the face of fierce opposition in the Local Government.
In his words, “The victory recorded today is a collective one for the progressives, owing to the determination of party leaders, faithfuls and supporters alike to stand united and focused on victory in the face of strong opposition. It was a victory that will further deepen our long age political rotational pattern as a people and also upholds the values of Equity, fairness and justice in our democratic system.
With the result released by INEC, at Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA KD polling unit, Bagido, APC scored 201 votes while the ADC and PDP candidates polled 90 and 34 votes respectively.
After collation at the ward 09 Okemeta level, APC triumphed with a total votes of 1578 while closely followed by ADC which scored 1138 votes and PDP came distance third with 772 votes. Ward 09 is the home to ADC candidate but he was roundly defeated by the combined forces of Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA and other party structure.
After the total result of the entire Yagba East Local Government was collated, announced and released at the INEC office in Isanlu, APC scored a total votes of 6564, closely followed by ADC with 6452 votes and PDP with 2254 votes.
Mukadam Asiwaju thankfully heaps praises on his principal, mentor and leader; His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello for providing the right leadership both at the state and party level, which he says culminated to the droves of successes the party recorded on 25th February election and that of the assembly. He said, GYB kind of leadership is rare, owing to his courage and ability to balance the act of Governance and Politics with impactful results at every instance.
He also expressed gratitude to all party members and Yagba East electorates for making this victory possible, saying it has further reinforced the saying that power truly belongs to the people.
