The Senator, Representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Sen. Sunday Karimi, has directed security agencies to arrest and prosecute anyone found selling the fertilizer he freely gave to farmers across the district.
Sen. Karimi made the appeal following information at his disposal that some persons are alledged to be selling the fertilizer in the open market.
Sen. Karimi disclosed that as a means to encourage farmers towards ensuring improve yield and food security, he donated 2400 bags of fertilizers, but lamented that some persons are alledged to be diverting the fertilizer for sale.
He there called on security agencies to arrest anyone caught with the view to unmasking those behind the satanic crime against Kogi West farmers.
The Senator assured that efforts are ongoing to provide farmers with more ferterlizer, herbicides and other support needed to increase their yield but said if the current efforts to thwart the good intentions is not checked, the items will go down the drain with no attendant results.
