Mrs Saadatu Muhammad Ali the Manager of the Park in an interview recently revealed that, the Arches Park which was set up in 2021 by herself and her Supportive Husband who doubles as the MD/CEO, was born out of her Passion and Love for Kids and Children, Specifically, the pleasure and Fulfilment she derives whenever she sees Kids and Children plays, even adults She added.Moreso that,as the Saying goes,’all Work and no play Makes Jack a dull Boy, in addition to the rarity of Such Places for Recreational activities in Maiduguri, underscored the rationale behind the establishment of the the Arches Park,She Stressed.
Some of the Facilities available at the Arches for fun and Recreational activities amongst others, included the following, Swings, Pools, Bouncing Castles,Play House, Trampoline,Cars for Kids and Adults, Photo hoot.
She explained that, the prices are affordable, #1000 is the entry fee and discount is offered to persons who Comes in large numbers. She further noted that,#1000 is payable to use the general Swimming pool,but for the use of the private pool a Client has to pay #10,000. According to her, there are Some facilities whose price are below #1000 and Some#500, Some are even free of Charge.
Another Distinguishing feature that has made the Arches to become the most Sought after destination for fun, Recreational activities, Leisure and Relaxation was due to the Security Guaranteed Nature and Safety of the Park Coupled with it affordability according to the Manager who Spoke with our Correspondent, the taste of nature as a result of the presence of trees and beautiful flowers and the serene environment also makes the Arches unique, She bustressed.
Continuing,Mrs Saidatu Said the Arches Park has about three Security Men who maned the facility on 24 hours basis and the management sometimes employees the Services of Bouncers when ever there was any Ceremony that has to do with Crowd.
The Arches,it was learnt usually hosts events like Re-union, Birthday Anniversary, Reception, Meetings, Get together, Barbeque Party and other Social events.
Mrs Saadatu further pointed out that, during the Start-up stage of the Arches Park,it was very Challenging due to low Patronage, which was due to the insurgency and other economic factors,but She however, added that, the current patronage was reassuring and encouraging, even as she Commended the good people of Maiduguri to have found the “Arches Park”, as their destination for leisure and Relaxation.
She also noted that, Arches was battling, with the running cost, particularly, the price of Fuel and disel which have Skyrocketed as a result of the removal of fuel Subsidy by the federal Government.
According to Mrs Saidatu, Arches has Contributed immensely to the development of the tourism and Hospitality sector of Borno State, and has also helped to reduce the effects of Unemployment amongst the youth.She further Stressed that, aside the management Staff of the Arches, which is herself,her husband and the Brother in-law, other ten persons are on the pay roll of the Arches on monthly basis.
