Appointment of Ward Special Assistants; A Manifestation of Governor Ododo’s political Skills and democratic credentials – Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA
The Honourable Commissioner of Finance,Budget and Economic Planning, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA has appraised and commended the political timeliness and democratic correctness of appointing three(3) Ward Special Assistants across the 239 wards in the confluence state, describes the development as a demonstration of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s political adeptness and clear understanding of what participatory democracy entails.
Asiwaju, in his message, released through his media assistant, extols the leadership style of His Excellency marked by democratic values of Inclusivity, fairness, equity, and justice. Our people at the grassroots will now have full involvement and participation in the governance of the state through the mechanism of the newly appointed ward Special Assistants, which will act as a feed back to the government and also delivery link of democratic dividends to people, Asiwaju stated
The Honourable Commissioner asserted that the ideal is a political masterstroke, classical democratic demonstration, and a testament to the people oriented administration led by His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. Like the governor has always emphasised at every fora, that governance and government is all about the people, and he’s ready as the privileged servant leader to ensure everyone is carried along for the profound purposes of achieving individual happiness and collective development of the state.
He said, ” I salute Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on this profound ideal and the subsequent appointment of deserving kogites at the grassroots . The sole objective of the enlarged appointment, without any increase in the cost of governance, is to ensure while reducing the burden of recurrent expenditure, the people must be well informed of government policies, programmes and project in their domain and at the same time serve as a feedback route for government to know where to intervene or area to improve upon in meeting the yearnings of the populace”.
This is truly a new era of consolidation and continuity where the wellbeing and welfare of the people occupy a central space in the heart of the administration. In the same vein, more youths and women are now brought to the position of leadership to deepen Inclusivity and strengthen democratic ethos where no one is left behind. With this development, communication gaps would be closed between the government and governed, and development that is tied to expedient needs of the masses would be implemented accordingly.
Asiwaju concluded, “This is indeed a conspicuous manifestation of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s manifestation of political adeptness and clear demonstration of his democratic values as a leader. No doubt, kogi will experience a paradigm shift where the people’s voice will be heard, and their yearning is adequately met. “
