Appointment Of UNIBEN VC: Group Accuses Prof. Salami Of Plotting Against The Interest Of Benin Nation

A Socio Cultural Group, the BENIN UNITED FORUM (BUF) , has appealed to His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Oba Ewuare II, prominent BENIN citizens to call Professor Lilian Imuetinyan Salami, vice Chancellor , University of BENIN to order in view to averting her Anti-Benin agenda which might lead to anarchy in the ivory tower University.
The group also accused Salami of supporting a non BENIN person to succeed her instead of allowing the existing system of working for the Benin Nation.
The group in a statement signed by the President and Secretary General, Iyamu Osaro Culture ,Osayuki- osa- Benson and released to journalists in Benin City, stated that Professor Lilian Salami, who came on the back of the support from the Benin Nation is shocking to note that she now divert her interest to a non Benin person thereby neglecting the interest of the Benin Nation.
The group stated that,
“we have unraveled the Anti-Benin plans /Plots being selfishly pursued by the outgoing Vice Chancellor of University of BENIN, Professor Lilian Imuetinyan Salami to handover the helms of affairs to a YORUBA man who was former Deputy Vice-Chancellor as the next Vice-chancellor University of Benin.
“It is on record that in 2009, while some people were fighting against the struggle of the actualization of the enthronement and appointment of a Benin Vice-Chancellor, we took it as inevitable struggle to ensure that the first Benin man emerged as ViceChancellor of University of Benin who was the late Professor Osayuki Oshodin and ever since the struggle was birthed, the foundation we laid has been aggressively followed to the latter which also gave the nod for the appointment of the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Lilian Imuetinyan Salami.
“if the predecessors of the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Lilian Imuetinyan Salami have destroyed the foundation we laid, it would have been difficult for Professor Lilian Imuetinyan Salami who is a Benin woman to emerged as the Vice-Chancellor of University of Benin.
The group further stated that, we the leadership and Stakeholders of BENIN UNITED FORUM want to humbly use this medium to appeal to our God’s King on Earth, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Oba Ewuare II to call Prof. Lilian Imuetinyan Salami to order in view to averting her AntiBenin agenda which might lead to anarchy in the ivory tower University.
Also, we want to also use this medium to humbly call on the Elites and other Stakeholders of BENIN NATION to prevail on the outgoing Vice Chancellor of University of Benin, Professor Lilian Imuetinyan Salami to jettison her Anti-Benin agenda in view to sustaining the foundation and legacy we established in 2009.
