APC’s Hassan Shado Wins Okura Constituency Bye-election in Kogi
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Hassan Shado, candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), winner of Saturday’s bye-election for the Okura State Constituency in Kogi State.
Announcing the results at the Egume Collation Centre, the Returning Officer, Professor Emmanuel Eneche Onoja FCA, disclosed that the APC candidate polled a total of 55,073 votes, while the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) scored 1,038 and 445 votes respectively.
Nigerian Post gathered that the election witnessed low voter turnout, with some opposition parties raising concerns over the credibility of the entire process.
